Stringer
When I saw the Wollmeisen Birdies in colorway “Mr. Stringer” I knew I had to knit a shawl with it.
But you can knit your Stringer shawl uni colored or with different stripes or using a gradient or using left overs – it’s up to you!
The pattern is so easy and the result is a reversible, very versatile shawl. The shape is an asymetrical triangle.
Materials:
The shawl requires approx. 180 gr (689 yds / 630 m) of Fingering Yarn
The sample shown used 6 skeins of Wollmeisen Birdies Pure (Fingering, 100% Merino,115 yds / 105 m per 30 gr), colorway: Mr. Stringer (C1 = Aquarius, C2 = Q.E.D., C3 = edel, C4 = 2 Matsch, C5 = golden pear, C6 = much Matsch)
One US 4 / 3.5 mm circular needle AND one US 8 / 5 mm circular needle (or needle sizes to obtain gauge), tapestry needle
Gauge:
19 sts x 24 rows = 4 x 4 “/ 10 x 10 cm in pattern stich (after blocking)
Finished size after blocking (wingspan x depth):
96” / 240 cm x 22” / 55 cm
