Striped Football Scarf
A bold stripey scarf knit in fine 2-ply wool, lightweight but warm for a winter’s day match

Note: There is a free football scarf pattern on my blog: https://lilysteeple.blogspot.com/2020/05/football-scarf.html.

MATERIALS
100g of fine 2-ply geelong lambswool, 50g in one colour, 50g in a contrasting colour
A pair of 3mm Needles (Size No 11), a small to medium size crochet hook and a tapestry needle

TENSION
30 stitches and 42 rows over 10 cm square using 3mm needles

MEASUREMENTS
205cm total length including tassells, 13cm width

IF USING A HEAVIER-WEIGHT YARN
The only adjustments that really need to be made are to the needle size used, the number of cast on stitches and, perhaps, the number of tassels. I would use the needle size suggested on the ball band and either work out the number of cast on stitches by looking at the tension given on the ball band and adjusting to the width required or knitting a few samples and seeing what works.

A K1, P1 rib could be used instead of moss stitch or alternatively, garter stitch could be used (knit every row).
