I have designed this easy crochet bag using basic crochet stitches with US terminology of chains, single crochet, half double crochets and double crochet stitches so it is not complicated but still has an overall affect of looking fabulous. For UK crocheters there is a stitch conversion for you in the abbreviations.

I have designed the bag in three pieces. A front and a back section, which are identical, and a long circular piece which forms the strap. The strap wraps around both sides of the bag giving it strength and durability. For this pattern I have used a 10 ply chunky cotton.

MATERIALS

Crochet Hook: METRIC: Size 5mm, USA: 8/H, UK: Size 6

Yarn: I used 100% recycled cotton 200 gram balls to complete this bag. As a guide I would suggest you will need 2-3 balls of the main colour 1 and one of each of colour 2 and 3. Any yarn that is a chunky 10-12 ply approximately in cotton or cotton/acrylic would be suited to this project.

Overall Drop Including Handle : 66cm (This measurement was taken while bag was flat. You can adjust the thickness and length of strap if you like).

Width Of Bag: 42cm (This measurement was taken while bag was flat).

Depth Of Bag Middle: 30cm (This measurement was taken while bag was flat).
