Striped Shoulder Bag
I have designed this easy crochet bag using basic crochet stitches in US terminology of chains, single crochet and half double crochet stitches so it is not complicated but still has an overall affect of looking fabulous. For UK crocheters there is a stitch conversion for you.
This pattern is very easy to follow with a concise 29 page step by step guide showing large images at most steps. I have designed the bag in three pieces. A front and a back section, which are identical, and a long circular piece which forms the strap. The strap wraps around both sides of the bag giving it strength and durability. For this pattern I have used a 10 ply chunky cotton.
MATERIALS
YARN: I used 100% cotton 200 gram Anette Erickson yarn to complete this bag, 2 balls of colour 1 (black), and 1 ball of each colour 2 and 3 (white and lilac). This yarn is available from Spotlight Stores in Australia or Anette Erickson’s Etsy Shop (see link above). As a guide I would suggest if you were using 50g balls of yarn you will need 5 balls of colour 1 and 1 of each colour 2 and 3. Any yarn that is a chunky 10-12 ply approximately in cotton or cotton/acrylic would be suited to this project.
CROCHET HOOK: METRIC: Size 5.00mm - 5.50mm, USA: H/8 - I/9, UK: Size 6-5
DARNING NEEDLE: Able to thread on chunky yarn and fit through bead hole to thread onto yarn.
