Simplicity is the key in this easy to knit unisex hat. Simply choose your favorite color and add a unique contrasting color.

Worked in 2X2 ribbing and stockinette. It can be worn as a slouchy trendy hat or with the brim rolled up for extra warmth around your ears.

For this sample I used, Red Heart yarn in Gray & Spring Green.

Optional: add a pompom

Uses worsted weight yarn for easy wash & wear.

Stitches: Knit, Purl, Kfb, K2tog

This pattern uses standard knitting terminology and abbreviations.

Note: the gradual increases noted in the pattern Rnds 21-25 are used for shaping the crown until you have 88 sts (avg size for man). If you prefer to make this in smaller size, stop your increases at 80 sts and continue the pattern as per normal instructions. The 80 sts size will also change the stitch count when you begin the decreases. Just be aware of that change as well. If you prefer not to make the increases per the pattern, you can also use a 4.5mm needle size when you work the ribbing and then switch to the 5.5mm when you begin the stockinette pattern.
