These striped tomte (Swedish gnome) hats are first knit and then densely felted to hold their shape. Each one knits up fast and is perfect for topping Christmas trees and wine bottles, and are fun on tablescapes and mantles.

Both tomte hats are worked in the round starting from the bottom of the hat and worked up. They are a small project and knit up fast. Felting is completed in a top loading washing machine - instructions are included in the pattern. The finished felted hats are about 16” tall (before curling top) with a 2.5” base.
