Stripey Bird Hide Socks
This fun pattern was designed as part of my annual DB Socktober Sock A Long.
This sock design was inspired by birdwatching and especially the bird hides that we have seen when we were on lovely holidays.
The texture work on the sock leg represents the small bird hide windows and is a lot of fun to knit. You only knit with one colour at a time for this mosaic colour work stripes!
This design is written toe up with a heel flap and gusset and I created a FULL VIDEO TUTORIAL for it, which is exclusive to this pattern.
The heel design of this sock pattern was improved to my other sock designs and I am super excited to share this amazing technique with you!
The textured pattern can definitely be knit cuff down and you can easily plug the stitch pattern into your favourite cuff down sock recipe.
Sizes in the pattern: To fit a 19-21 ( 21-23; 23-25 ; 25-27 ; 27-29 ) cm circumference foot
Needles required: 2.25mm needle of your choice or the size to get the suggested gauge.
3.25mm needle optional for bind-off
Pattern is not written for any specific method of knitting in the round - but I do show however what the sock will look like on Magic Loop before starting the heel turn in the video tutorial.
As part of my #DBSocktober2023 promotion this pattern will be available at a 25% discount for the month of October
There is also a Sock-A-Long that I host for the month of October on Instagram and Google Meet - you are welcome to come join in the fun.
