You can always use a new tote bag, right? This one is cute, easy to make and a great way to use some of the gorgeous self-striping yarn out there.

In order to make the crochet tote bag, you will need to know these stitches:

Foundation single crochet
Single crochet
Half-double crochet
Back-loop only
Front-post half-double crochet
Back-post half-double crochet
Star stitch

(I have not included instructions for how to do the star stitch, but google will give you many excellent tutorials for it!)
