Okay, at the—almost 11th hour, but not quite, here is a Halloween pattern! These have been marinating for way too long, so I’m publishing them this year even though it’s really late for that.

These simple gloves feature classic stripes and nice details; they’re knit in a nice medium dk/spotweight wool and feature built-in cuffs. Knitting flows from the thumbs through the right and left mitt—these are minimally shaped/handed.

Knit these mitts in three sizes—s/m/l—based on how much ease you prefer and the size of the recipient’s hands. The free .PDF schematic shows both the wearer’s hand circumference for all three sizes, and the real measurements for the size small samples.

Materials:

  • 40-60g/100-150yds MC, 20-40g/50-100yds CC in sport/DK wool; orange and black samples shown in Knitpicks Swish DK
  • One set of 5 DPNs in US 5/3.75mm, or size needed for gauge
  • Smooth spare yarn for a provisional crochet cast-on
  • Crochet hook for provisional crochet cast-on
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in end

Gauge:
Gauge is 12 sts and 16 rows in 2”/5cm of blocked stockinette worked in the round.

Measurements:
This pattern is written for gloves in a unisex s(m, l), sized to fits hands approximately 6.5-7(8, 9)“/17-18(20, 23)cm in circumference. There should be a little bit of negative ease for these, and the size small mitts are shown on an 8” hand in the modeled photos.
