Stripy Surprise Dress
The Stripy Surprize Dress lets me think of a bright and sunny day in a field full of blossoms…
The shoulder seams and sleeve caps of the dress are worked from the top down, using contiguous set-in sleeve method. It means you knit one continuous round right from the start. The pattern is in two options for the sleeve edging: slightly flared and puffy. Choose yours!
The big advantage of working top down is that you can adjust the length of the sleeves and dress length to suit your needs - the possibilities are endless…
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate / advanced.
MATERIALS USED
• 8 x 100 g balls (3000 m or 3280 yds) using Ice yarns Alpaca Fine Magic 36982 colour yarn or any other similar weight yarn that contains approx. 375 - 400 m / 100g.
• 1 Circular needle 3.50 mm x 50 cm (US 4).
• 1 Circular needle 3.50 mm x 80 cm (US 4).
• 1 Tapestry needle.
• 6 Stitch Markers.
• Scrap yarn or st holder to hold sleeve sts while you work body.
NB Needle size is only a guide- if you get too many stitches on 10 cm, take a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, take a smaller needle size.
