Strong Suit Mosaic Blanket
Are you feeling lucky? Ace up your sleeve? This pattern is a perfect gift for any card game lover.
The techniques for this pattern are easy! You only need knit and slipped stitches to create the pattern, and only one colour of yarn is used at a time. This is a great introduction to the techniques used for “mosaic knitting”.
Gauge is not critical for this project, but will affect the finished size and yardage required.
Instructions are included for any yarn weight, to swatch and determine cast on stitches and needle size that work best for your yarn.
While the instructions are for a blanket, testers also used these motifs for coasters, dishcloths, and a pillow - I’d love to see more combinations! :)
Sample shown in worsted weight acrylic yarn, using a US 8 - 5mm 40”/101cm circular needle knit flat. Gauge for sample is 17 stitches and 36 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch, and used approximately 560m/610 yards total, with finished dimensions of 31”/79cm tall by 28.5”/73cm wide.
Pattern instructions: Written and charted instructions
Pattern Accessibility: The large text file for the pattern is written in 24 point sans serif font (Arial) in all black text. It has no italics. All of the directions are fully written out. Charts are included at the end, but they are not required to complete the pattern.
