strrripes
5 for 4 – if you buy any 5 Åsa Tricosa patterns at the same time you get the least expensive one for free.
Strrripes is constructed on the Ziggurat principle as are all my sweaters and cardigans right now. I can’t imagine knitting any other way. For the moment.
This is a tailored cardigan with some waist shaping and yet with a relaxed fit. Everything is knitted in one go. There is no seaming, and only a very few ends to weave in when you’re done. The contiguous set-in sleeves are knitted in the round from cap to cuff – you can do this with magic looping or on two circulars.
The instructions are very detailed because that’s the only way to get the 6-row stripes to work and to achieve symmetry while Ziggurating down with tailored shoulders and minimal number of yarn ends.
The collar and frontbands are worked all-in-one from the top also – simple intarsia is involved here. Very simple. You could add the collar and frontbands last if you wanted to. I just like being done when I’m done… (Plus I really like this collar/edging.)
There are three pages with photo tutorials for the general Ziggurat Tricnique, how to knit-on the neckband, the crochet-cast-on, jogging the round on the sleeves. And so on.
