Studio 54 Crop
Knitflix and Chill. That’s where the idea for this design originated. I was watching the Studio 54 documentary on Netflix, which I highly recommend, and I was so enthralled by the elaborate, colorful fashions. Honestly, the 1970s was an EPIC era for fashion and music, so it’s one of my favorite decades to study for inspiration. My favorite icons from that era are Diana Ross, Grace Jones, Donna Summer, and Earth Wind & Fire. I wanted to create a design that paid homage to the era, both in style and color choice. Thus, the Studio 54 Crop was born! I hope you enjoy this new pattern, and channel all the groovy 1970s vibes as you knit it!
This sweater is a raglan construction. That is, the sweater is knit from the top down and incorporates increases around the sleeve caps and front neckline to create the openings for sleeves and the V-neck. With ribbing added around the sleeve caps and at the side seams for extra comfort, the Studio 54 Crop is meant to be stylish and practical to ensure that you #createandslay!
The pattern is suggested to be worn with 0-2 inches/0-5cm of positive ease, cropped. However, you can make a size with less ease for a more fitted look, or a size with more ease for a more relaxed fit. The pattern also includes instructions for various modifications, including lengthening the body, a short-sleeved option, and a size range that would allow for it to be worn with positive or negative ease, depending on your preference!
