Once fall approaches, I pretty much get carried off to ‘Hat-land-ia’. Between shows and the holiday season, hats are usually my go to. Hats can be adjusted to easily to make the perfect match through colors, fibers, and fit. I wanted a hat pattern that has; the texture I love, rhythmic patterns, and had no purl stitches. I love to watch foreign films, however it’s difficult for me to read the ‘Subtitles’ and watch my needles. I am able to focus on the screen and not my fingers while knitting this hat. The cable stitches that provide texture, with a bit of practice, don’t even require cable needles. (plenty of you tube videos on cables with out needles).

This pattern works with any worsted weight yarn, and in most cases, will leave plenty left for a pom or a small coffee cozy.
This hat is knit on circular needles to avoid the seam. When the stitches get too few to keep on the circular needle, switch to the double pointed needles for your decreases.
This is a great hat for first time or beginner with cables.
