Subtle Socks
Subtle Socks is a minimalistic sock design with an emphasis on elegant details. The characteristic triangular heel, marked by raised stitches that gather in a line at the back of the calf, is a reference to the seamed silk stockings of the 1920s. The beautiful increases under the arch of the foot add a little extra detail, that maybe only you know about, and can appreciate every time you put them on.
Sizes: 35/36 (37/38) 39/40 (41/42) 43/44
Gauge: 29 stitches at 10x10cm in stockinette stitch, when washed or steamed.
Suggested needles: Circular needle or double pointed needles size 2,5mm
Materials:
• 100g Arwetta, Filcolana (210m/50g)
• 100g Mayflower 1. Class (210m/50g)
• 100g Regia Silk, Schachenmayr (400m/100g)
The amounts indicate the total yarn consumption for two socks, rounded up to full skeins. You will often be able to settle for a little less. Indicative quantities: 55g (60g) 65g (70g) 75g
The suggested yarns all contain a reinforcing fiber (polyamide/nylon) as socks are exposed to a lot of wear and tear. By choosing a yarn that is intended for socks, you will enjoy your Subtle Socks for a longer time.
