Suburban Slouch
Named for the apparently picket-fence-like pattern, this super slouchy beanie works up quickly in chunky yarn making it a great pattern for last-minute gifts or quick weekend projects. Simple slip-stitch colorwork adds interest and a mild challenge for newer knitters.
This pattern is suitable for adventurous beginners, with clear instructions and tips for those new to colorwork. The slip-stitch method means you will only ever need to work in one color at a time. You will need to be familiar with knitting in the round, and basic decreases.
Sizing: S, (M, L) to fit head circumference 20 (22, 24)“ with finished length of 10 (10.5, 11)”. Instructions are given for adjusting the length (and therefore the slouch) of the hat.
Yardage: If using the King Cole yarn you’ll need just one skein of your main color for even the largest size, with around 20-25 yards of contrast color.
