suelilly Shawl
A combination of lace patterns with a cable or 2 thrown in for interest. The upper edge is a variation of a basket weave to set it apart from the body. The gentle shaping is created by increasing/decreasing every 4th row. Mesh lace bottom edge, and an optional lace diamond motif inset in the main body.
Finished blocked size, 20” by 90”.
Materials needed: 840 - 900 yds fingering weight yarn, #5 Knitting Needle, 4 markers, and a Cable Needle. 2 skeins of Knitting Fever Painted Desert or the lighter blue I used 2 skeins of Madelinetosh Twist Light.
Instructions are in charts only as this is a lengthy pattern, adding in patterns as the width grows. Adjusting length and width can be accomplished by reversing the shaping at the halfway mark if not using the diamond motif.
Different weight yarns can be substituted but sizes will vary. Be sure to have adequate amount of yarn available.
