Sue's Shawlette
Several months ago, my very stylish friend and accomplished knitter, Sue, came into the yarn store with her Bermuda Scarf designed by Ilga Leja. It was beautiful, and I spent lots of time staring at it. I wanted to design a crocheted shawlette that would pay tribute to Ilga Leja’s wonderful design, so I came up with Sue’s Shawlette. The shawlette features lots of short rows as well as patterns of holes that help accentuate the waves created with the short rows. It is worked in three colors of laceweight yarn; however, it would work equally well in one yarn with long, slow color changes, I believe. My best estimates on yarn needed are: Color A-450 yds; Color B-450 yds; Color C-525 yds.
The finished piece measures 69 inches from point to point and is 20 inches deep after blocking.
Stitches used: chain, single crochet, half double crochet, slip st.
The pattern pdf includes six photos.
