Its combination of alternating colours, tie shoulders, and faux “contrast stitching” made using post stitches, works up to be a fun and detailed design that’s surprisingly easy to put together. Sugar Beach is a very customizable pattern, and is perfect for scorching summer days at the pool or beach! Wear it with your favourite shorts, skirts, or jeans for an effortlessly boho chic look!

This pattern is written tutorial style, meaning it can be scaled to fit any size required and does not contain specific graded sizes! Any weight yarn will work wonderfully for this project (though a dk weight is recommended!), and using a hook that is 1-2 sizes larger than recommended on the yarn label for the body of the garment will ensure the tension is not too tight, creating a flowy and light top that has tons of drape! The shirt is constructed in two identical pieces, a front and back panel. The two panels are seamed up the sides, leaving room for the armholes. The yarn is reattached at the top edge of the shirt to create the decorative edging and tie straps, fastened off, then reattached again at the bottom to finish the hem. Decorative tassels are attached to the ends of the tie straps, if desired.
