Sugar House Shawl
Sugar House is the area of Salt Lake City where my sweet husband grew up. It got its name for being the perfect place to grow sugar beets in the days of the pioneers. This flirty, flowy shawl was designed to use two of your sweetest skeins. I’ve used two beautiful colorways from Candy Shoppe Yarns, both with a sugary sparkle to them, but you can always go to your stash and find your favorite color combination to let both of them shine.
The body of this shawl is worked from point to point, increasing from one point to the middle, then maintaining the stitch count for the center section before decreasing to the other point. Then stitches are picked up all along the edge, made easier by picking up in from garter stitch edge, and the ruffle is knit from the top down. I-cord edges give it a polished finish and the ruffle adds that feminine touch.
