Sugar Step Hat
Experimenting with creating a large, ribbon-like, ruffle lead to the creation of this feminine, romantic hat. The brim is knit flat and side-to-side in garter stitch in white yarn, and then, switching to a heathered grey yarn, stitches are picked up from the edge of the brim and knit in stockinette stitch to quickly complete the rest of the hat.
This pattern and the matching Sugar Step Mitts can be purchased together as part of an ebook.
A photo tutorial showing how to create the ruffle is included with the pattern.
