Suma Vest
The Suma Vest is inspired by my love of layer in the Summer time. I wanted a lightweight garment that I can wear throughout the year.
It’s made out of a fingering weight yarn.
Details:
It’s made from the bottom up and the only seaming is to connect the top of the shoulders together.
This vest will need to be blocked.
It has a chart available for the lace section along the back panel.
It has shaping along the front panels and at the top of the back panel for a slimmer shoulder look.
The Suma Vest is available in sizes S - 5XL!
This is an open style vest so pick that goes with your bust size.
S - 32-34 inches
M - 36-38 inches
L - 40-42 inches
XL - 44-46 inches
2XL - 48-50 inches
3XL - 52-54 inches
4XL - 56-58 inches
5XL - 60-62 inches
Yardage: 530, 602, 674, 746, (938, 1010, 1082, 1154) yards of super fine weight 1 yarn
Yarn: I used a cotton/wool blend from Thistle & Hart for a lightweight vest that I can wear even in 90 degree weather.
For a budget friendly alternative, Lion Brand came out with a Summer Nights yarn (you can find it at Walmart or online) It can an incredible amount of yardage for a single skein but they do have a smaller version of it too. It’s an acrylic blend so light weight and it has a sparkle through it.
Knit picks is also has affordable yarn.
Other yarns I would recommend is fingering weight yarn from your local yarn shop that you support.
My testers used a variety of yarn blends. Polysters, Superwash Merino, and they turned out beautiful.
I hope you love this garment!
