Summertime in Alberta means the Aspen trees take over. This colorway is a perfect representation of those beautiful trees of my childhood. The lace border is worked first, then the short-row body; then a simple garter edging.

Finished Size: 15” depth, 60” wingspan. Modification directions included.

Yarn: Arcane Fiber Works Fingering weight (sock), 85% Merino/15% Nylon. 435 yards/100g. Sample used the full skein.

Needles: Size 5 US/3.75mm 24” circular needle, or size to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 20 stitches/29 rows per inch in blocked stockinette stitch. One blocked repeat is 2.5” wide by 2.5” deep. Gauge is not critical for this item but will affect yardage used and drape.

Note: The body of this shawl is shaped by short rows using wrap and turn. If you are unfamiliar with the technique, instructions are provided, and several excellent video tutorials are available online.
