I absolutely love hand-dyed yarn! However, it does tend to be more expensive and therefore I usually only buy one skein. That means I need a one-skein project that will show off the beautiful colors of my lovely new yarn. This cowl is named “Summer Breezes” because it was June when I was designing it, but it will work just as well for Fall breezes too!

This cowl came out to be a very unique shape. It’s like a V scarf and a bandana cowl put together. That’s because we have more increasing in the center point than we do on the ends. I really don’t mind this. We get the length of a big triangle shawl without all the bunching up of excess material around the neck.

Gauge is not important because you can make this cowl with any weight of yarn and corresponding hook. It is an easy 1-row repeat, so you can end it any time you feel like it’s big enough. I used one skein of Yarn Bee Authentic Hand-Dyed merino wool. My cowl is 17” long in the center and 44” total length across the top.
