This shawl is named for the cool Summer evenings when you want a little extra cover on your arms and shoulders, but it can be used in any season as a decorative accent to your outfit.

This is an asymmetric triangle shawl. It starts in the corner and grows wider on one side only. It is an easy to remember 2-row repeat. It works with any size and type of yarn and corresponding hook. There is no border necessary. It works well with variegated and self-striping yarns as well as solid colors.

Gauge is not important as you can easily make your shawl as large as you want. The amount of yarn you need depends on the size yarn you use, your gauge, and how large you want your shawl. For my sample, I used 2 skeins of Baby Bee Sweet Delight Wrap yarn in Sunny. My shawl is 51” wide and 30” tall.
