I created this asymmetrical shawl pattern in honor of my local yarn shop’s 13th anniversary. The name of the shop is Cottage Yarn, hence the name Summer Cottage. The owner of the shop commissioned this beautiful hand-dyed yarn from Gershubie Fiber Arts for this event. I am in love with the Monet-inspired blues and pastel pinks, which remind me of a sunset over the water.

I have included two sets of instructions--both charted and written out--so that knitters uncomfortable with charts can work this project with ease. The feather-and-fan stitch is perfect for beginning lace knitters.
