Construction

Summer Dream is worked entirely in the round.
The construction is the classic top-down one: neckband stitches are cast on first and the sweater is then worked from the top down, increasing stitches on the yoke and using short rows to shape the shoulders and neck.

Embroidery

The embroidery on the yoke is very fun and simple to work and uses very few embroidery stitches: French Knot, Satin Stitch, Star Stitch, Chain Stitch, Detached Chain Stitch (Lazy Daisy),

Increases / decreases

For the increases on the yoke I recommend using the invisible increases by lifting the bar between two stitches and working it through the back loop.
On the sleeves, I recommend to use slanting decreases.

Short Rows

Once all the increases are worked on the yoke, short rows are added to shape the neck of sweater. It is possible to use any type of short rows.
You will find in the pattern instructions for wrap&turn short rows, however feel free to use your preferred technique.

Yarn mYak

Tibetan Cloud is a Sport/ Light DK weight of 100% Tibetan sheep wool, ethically sourced and traceable back to the flock. It comes exclusively from an ancient breed of Tibetan sheep that roam freely on the grassland of the Tibetan Plateau at an altitude of over 4000 mt.

This unique product has characteristics closer to fine fibers like cashmere and baby yak than to wool, not at all scratchy. It is a pleasure to knit with as it is to wear. As an added bonus, it has a beautiful stitch definition.

Costruzione

Summer Dream è un maglione lavorato interamente in circolare, non presenta cuciture e ha la vestibilità morbida dei maglioni costruiti in tondo in un unico pezzo.
La costruzione è quella classica top-down: si avviano le maglie per il collo e si procede dall’alto verso il basso, aumentando il numero di maglie per costruire lo sprone e utilizzando i ferri accorciati per ottenere una sagomatura più anatomica. Una volta terminato lo sprone si procede separando le maglie destinate alla lavorazione delle maniche e si continua lavorando il corpo fino al bordo. A questo punto non resta che tornare alle maglie in sospeso per le maniche e lavorarle fino al polsino.

Ricamo

Il ricamo presente sullo sprone è molto semplice da farsi e conta davvero pochi punti ricamo: punto nodino, punto catenella, punto girandola, punto raso, punto margherita, punto stella.

Aumenti / Diminuzioni

Per gli aumenti sullo sprone consiglio di utilizzare l’aumento invisibile ricavando il punto dalla barretta centrale tra due maglie e lavorandolo ritorto. Tenete comunque a mente che avendo in fine il ricamo su tutto lo sprone gli aumenti non si vedranno.

Per le maniche, invece, consiglio di utilizzare le diminuzioni direzionali.

Ferri Accorciati

Al termine degli aumenti sullo sprone vengono lavorati dei ferri accorciati per sagomare il maglione. E’ possibile utilizzare qualsiasi tipologia di ferri accorciati.
Le indicazioni nel pattern sono per la tecnica “avvolgi e gira” (wrap&turn), ma è possibile utilizzare la tecnica che si preferisce.

FILATO mYak

Per la lavorazione del maglione ho scelto il filato mYak Tibetan Cloud Wool che è una filato Sport / Light DK di pecora tibetana ottenuto in modo etico e di cui è possibile tracciarne l’origine. Proviene esclusivamente da un’antica razza di pecore tibetane che vengono fatte pascolare liberamente sui prati dell’Altopiano Tibetano ad un’altitudine di oltre 4000 metri.
Questo filato unico ha caratteristiche più vicine alle fibre sottili come il cashmere e il baby yak che alla lana, infatti è una fibra estremamente soffice e molto piacevole al tatto.

Per il ricamo ho scelto mYak Baby Yak/Silk, un filato mYak sottile (light fingering) composto da 50% di baby yak e 50% di seta leggera . È un filato che conserva tutte le migliori qualità del baby yak assieme alla lucentezza della seta.
