Gauge isn’t crucial for these projects, but if you want to match mine, here it is for each piece:

• Sun: 3 rounds in pattern = 1”
• Ice-cream cone: 4 rounds in pattern = 1” (ice cream); 2 rows in pattern = 1” (cone)
• Sea urchin: 2 rounds in pattern = 0.5”
• Starfish: 2 rounds in pattern = 0.5”
• Water balloon: 3 rounds in pattern = 1”
• Buttonholes: 4 sc and 3 rows = 1”

Finished sizes for each appliqué:

• Sun: about 4.25” in diameter
• Ice-cream cone: about 4.25” x 2”
• Sea urchin: about 3” in diameter
• Starfish: about 3.5” in diameter
• Water balloon: about 3.5” x 2.5”
