Summer Jumper in Cotton
MANY attractive colours can be obtained in knitting yarns of the cotton or mercerised cotton type, and these will be used extensively for jumpers to be worn for sports wear during the warm weather, and for wear under summer suits of linen, tweed, or very light-weight wool. A pastel tone, which will harmonise with any summer colours, or a deeper colour forming a strong contrast with the suit, would be equally suitable for this jumper. The vogue for dark blouses worn with lighter suits is still good to the coming spring and summer season.
MATERIALS. - 10 oz. yellow cotton yarn. Two long steel knitting pins of a size suitable to weight of yarn.
GENERAL WORKING PLAN. In order to ensure a good fit for the jumper, it is advisable to work it according to a well-cut pattern. Such a pattern can be easily made by following the accompanying diagram, which is intended for 36in. bust. To make it larger or smaller, add or subtract the necessary number of inches.
