Comfy and breezy, these lounge shorts are perfect for leisure-day essential featuring a wide waistband as well as the fun and playful high low hems with peekaboo side splits.

Summer Lounge Shorts is a seamless knit which worked top down from the waistband, then the short rows are used to create the rise for the lower back then working the increases for the hips. You will then split the stitches to work each leg individually.
These shorts have around 0 – 10 cm/ 0 – 4” of positive ease built into pattern. Therefore, sizes 1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6) 7 (8) 9 (10) 11 (12) are intended to fit hips circumference between 84 - 137 cm /32¾ - 52” (the final size of the garment will be additional 0 – 10 cm/ 0 – 4” at the hips). Measure your waist and the widest part of your hips to figure out the appropriate size.

Level: Intermediate

Gauge: 10cm / 4” = 22 stitches x 31 rows (blocked) in Stockinette stitch worked flat and in the round on main needles.

Suggested needles:
• Main: 2 separate pairs of 3.75mm (100cm) / US5 (40”) circular needles, or the required needles to obtain gauge. (Note: second pair is optional)
• Ribbing: 3.5mm (80cm) / US 4 (32”) circular needles or 1 size down from main needles.

Suggested Yarn:
• Any sports/light DK weight yarn that contained cotton/linen with some acrylic blend that matched gauge. Sample was made with recycled yarn in 100% cotton. Other suggestions are Hempathy by Elsebeth Lavold (50g/153yds), Granville by Valley Yarns (50g/167yds)
Note: some yarns stretch over time, carefully swatch your gauge as the final product might grow after some wears.
