This crochet pattern is for a men’s lightweight summer shirt, with a mesh stitch design that is worked sideways. The original idea was to utilise slow drifting cotton yarn cakes, letting the colour change across the body, from sleeve to sleeve. The design is intentionally loose fitting, so it will suit warm weather, and it will easily cover another shirt. Alternately, you could resize the whole thing so it fits more snuggly.

I have used 4ply cotton to make this shirt, specifically Yarn Kings, Sultan.

Larger Sizes will need additional yarn, such as a plain 4ply cotton, to supplement the cotton cakes.

The pattern includes instructions on sizing from Small to 5 XL. However, the instructions can be customised to suit your needs, with information on changing sleeve length, shoulder width, neckline width, and overall shirt length, See listing photographs for full size and yarn information. The garment is made in two pieces and then sewn together.

There is a lot of stretch in the finished item, so all sizing is only approximate.
