SUMMER SET- KANGAROO TUNIC AND SHORTS
YARN, GAUGE AND MACHINE: Yeoman’s Panama is durable and comfortable. Try stitch size 7(Japanese machines) or 6(Passap ma- chines) to get gauge of 33 stitches and 44 rows=4”. No ribber needed. Panama yarn is actually half cotton/half acrylic and shrinks and lofts quite a lot at first and may shrink more than once. Wash and dry twice when checking gauge to avoid disappointment. Also be aware that some colors of Panama shrink more than others. If Panama is unavailable, use a blend of a strand of 16/2 cotton with one of 2/15 acrylic as described in the beginning notes of this book.
SIZES: finished bust/hip of tunic 36.7, 38.3,40, 42.1, 44.3,45.5,47.7” Width across back at shoulder: 13.5. 13.7 14.2,14.8,15,15.6,16.1” Width of neckline: 6.5,7,7.5,8,9,9,9”Finished length all sizes=30” Shorten or lengthen by adding rows after hem and before armhole
