Knitting Pattern for a very cute matching Sun Hat and Cardigan in double knitting lightweight yarn.

Pattern is for ages 0 - 7 years

The cardigan can be knitted with either short or long sleeves and has a knitted contrast flower and knitted buttons. The hat is light and perfect for warm weather.

Full instructions are given for knitting the lace panels.

0-6 months - requires 3 balls 50g
6-12 months - requires 3 balls 50g
1-2 years - requires 4 balls 50g
2-3 years - requires 5 balls 50g
4-5 years - requires 5 balls 50g
6-7 years - requires 5 balls 50g

Plus small amount of contrast yarn for the flowers and buttons

Yarns suggested: James C. Cotton On DK(50% cotton - 50% acrylic), Sirdar Cotton DK, Patons 100% Cotton, Stylecraft Classique Cotton DK
or any other yarn that gives the same weight and gauge as below:
Yarn weight: DK / 8 ply (11 wpi)
Gauge: 22 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
