The pattern covers ages from birth to 7 years. The girl’s hat incorporates coral knot stitch (full instructions given) which gives a lacy affect and is decorated with 2 flowers. The boy’s hat has a simple ridged pattern and can be decorated with some fun buttons.

YARN
Any Double Knitting (8 ply) yarn can be used so long as it gives the right tension and sufficient length of yarn is bought.

The girl’s hat shown is knitted in James C. Brett Cotton On (50% Cotton – 50% Acrylic) – Shade No 7. Contrast yarn is Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Candyfloss Pink, Raspberry Pink, and Lime Green. The boy’s hat is knitted in Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK in Sky Blue.
