A light, airy and flowy top is perfect for those warm summer days. Either at the beach, shopping in the city or lounging at home, this summer top looks effortlessly chic while keeping you from overheating. The top is knit top down starting with the two front triangles which are then joined to knit the rest of the front piece. Next, stitches are picked up to knit the straps and the back piece, which has a slightly deeper V than the front. The top is finished by seaming the sides together with the invisible mattress stitch.

Finished bust circumference
103 (110, 122, 129, 141) (148, 160, 167, 479) cm / 40.5 (43.5, 47,75, 50,75, 55.25,) (58.25, 62.75, 65.75, 70.25) inches.
The top is designed to have 20-30 cm/8-12 inches of positive ease.
The model has a bust circumference of 95 cm / 38 inches and is wearing a top knit in size 3.

Length
The length is adjustable, both by the length of the straps and how long you wish to knit the body. But yarn requirements are estimated based on the following lengths:
50 (51, 52, 53, 54) (55, 56, 56, 56) cm / 20 (20,5, 21, 21, 21.5) (22, 22.5, 22.5, 22.5) inches.

Yarn
480 (525, 595, 645, 710) (765, 835, 885, 940) meters / 252 (575, 650, 705, 775) (835, 915, 970, 1030) yards of fingering weight yarn.
The samples are knit in Knitting for Olive – Pure Silk (100% silk, 250m per 50g).

Gauge
21 sts x 36 rows = 10 cm/4 inches in garter stitch.
Since the top is knit in garter stitch with a lace pattern it will be very stretchy. I therefore recommend you wash and block your swatch and let it dry before measuring.

Needles
3,5mm (US 4)
Change needle size if needed to obtain the correct gauge.

Other tools
Stitch markers, scrap yarn and/or stitch holder and a tapestry needle.
