Summer Trails Hat
by Emily Bittel
This is a light-weight beanie made solely with double and single crochet. It is an excellent beginner crochet project.
The pattern is written to fit a small head snugly. My goal was to be able to fit this hat under a helmet. If your noggin is a little bigger, you may want to add increasing rows.
Gauge isn’t really important, just fit it to your head as you go. If you don’t want a snug hat, add additional increases to the beginning.
I used less than 1 skein of Patons classic wool yarn, so less that 210 yards. I had a little bit of another wool yarn leftover in my stash, so I used that to make a contrasting edging. That is optional, though.
Enjoy! (And happy trails!)
