Summerland Shawl Scarf
The Summerland Triangle Shawl/Scarf is a lightweight and easy to work up project that is perfect to use and wear all year round but, is also designed to be worn during the warmer weather seasons. The pattern uses a cotton blend yarn and the sizing is less bulky than other triangle shawls that can also be worn as a scarf.
This pattern includes very detailed instructions for the 4 row repeat design of the pattern and it uses basic stitches such as the slst, sc, hdc and dc. You will also need to know how to do the “3rd Loop” hdc and start the project using the Magic Circle technique. You will require an L Hook and one of the new, larger 530yd Caron Cotton Cakes to make this Triangle Shawl/Scarf. There will be enough yarn left over to make tassels if you wish to add them to the shawl/scarf - instructions on how to make tassels are provided.
Gauge is not important however; there are instructions in the pattern on how to monitor sizing within the first 8 rows. If measurements are not within guidelines outlined, change your Hook Size to ensure proper sizing of the project. When completed, the Summerland Shawl/Scarf should measure 56” across from corner to corner and 26.5” from the top to the bottom point of the triangle.
