Summers by the Lake
Summer is here and I hope you are all enjoying it!! There’s always something comforting and healing about being near a lake. Any lake.
Many folks head up north to enjoy their cabins or favorite resorts. We travel to our magical place in Grand Marais. MN, Trout Lake Resort. It’s four miles down a gravel road just off the Gun Flint Trail, carefully tucked into the woods. The lake is stocked with Rainbow Trout and has an abundance of Lakers. The water is pristine.
The loons call. A few weeks ago, we were lucky enough to stay in Cabin 1, and were treated to soothing sounds of the babbling brook close by.
I am forever grateful for the wonderful friends in my life, especially to Nancy and our Trout Lake Family for the good times and rejuvenation of spirit. We seem to only be able to get there about once a year, although we would like to go more often, and it’s never, ever long enough. Enjoy summer by your special lake.
This delicate poncho is lightweight and knit with a cotton fingering yarn. It’s great for throwing over the shoulders in the evenings or when the ac gets too chilly, or perhaps even as a swimsuit coverup. I hope you enjoy the pattern.
The poncho is approximately 28” in circumference at the neck, 14” deep from the neck edge to the bottom edge x 60” in circumference at the widest part of the bottom. It is knit in the round, from the top down. Gauge is 5 sts./in.,
6 rounds/in., in stockinette stitch. It is finished with three rounds of optional beading.
