Summerwine tee is a lightweight, slightly cropped shortsleeves tee– perfect for spring and summer.
It’s an airy, oversized, simple ting, so you can enjoy wearing it as it is or over a sweater for a layered look.
The top is knitted from the top down using a raglan techniques. First, a few rows are worked back and forth over the neck and shoulders to create a slightly higher back neck for a better fit. Then stitches are cast on at the front neckline, and the work continues in the round.
When the yoke is done, the work is divided into sleeves and body. The sleeve stitches are put on hold while the body is finished with a slight A-line shaping. The sleeve stitches are then picked up again and the sleeves worked seamlessly top down to the cuffs.
Summerwine is intended to have a loosely/to more classic fit, so choose a size that you will be happy with.
It is some short rows are worked on the bottom to create a gentle curve on the back piece, making it slightly longer than the front piece.
If you used the knitted cast on method to close neckline then neckline in your tee can be without any specific edge treatments; if you used backwards loop cast on method for close neckline - it’s better to pick up the stitches around neckline opening and work tiny 2x2 rib. The edges at the bottom of the sleeves and body are worked in 2x2 rib stitch.
