Summery Cowl
A light and lacy cowl featuring the new Wide Linked Treble Crochet stitch variation.
The Summery Cowl is stitched flat, and can be any size you like. Instead of a long starting chain, you’ll stitch an easy decorative edging, to your desired length, into which the following rows are easily worked. When cowl is as wide as you like, finish with an easy row of ending edging. Block, twist, then seam the ends together for the perfect quick summer accessory.
Use any yarn you like, with the appropriate size hook. For a drapier fabric choose a larger hook than recommended for your yarn, and keep tension gently firm. Also needed: a hook 1-2 sizes smaller for final edging row.
Sample cowl was made with less than one skein of Deborah Norville Serenity Garden Yarn, colour Mountain Heather, using a size I (5.5mm) hook for the body and a size G (4.25 mm) hook for the final row.
