Sun Bucket Silk Hat
PATTERN NOTE: This is NOT the way most of my patterns are written.
This pattern was set up as an Instagram tutorial, but I had a lot of requests to have a version that could be downloaded for people who do not have Instagram – so, this pattern is written as a photo tutorial. It is HEAVY in pictures. There are 14 pages of pictures with 4 pictures per page. It IS a PHOTO TUTORIAL.
This is a good beginner tutorial.

Yarns: I have used all 100% recycled silk yarn from Darn Good Yarn in two weights. You can see more in my photos, but I held the two strands together throughout. One strand was a Sport Weight and one strand a Lace Weight. You can absolutely use this pattern with other materials and weights of yarn, but you will need to adjust the count and go by the measurement and size instead. If you use materials different than what I have used, your end products may not be the same.
I have used a size H/5mm crochet hook.
I used all of one cake of yarn at 150yds and then part of another cake for each hat – so, to be safe, have 200 yds. I ran out of the first cake of 150 yds on the brim. If you are just a bit short, you may be able to work this hat with a smaller brim.
This is a great stash busting scrap yarn project and looks really cool when you mix up leftover yarns.
This is a great beginner crochet tutorial. This is a 16-page PDF with 14 pages of pictures. I give step by step details on how to make these fun hats.
