Sun Doll
Level: INTERMEDIATE
This listing is for an easy-to-follow digital PDF pattern showing how to crochet an amigurumi of Sun (a doll originally inspired by Five Nights at Freddy’s Security Breach video game.) The digital pattern includes: 29 pages, 125+ full color photos, English US crochet terms, detailed descriptions and instructions.
If using size 1, super fine weight yarn, and a 1.75mm hook, the doll will be around 10” tall. Sun can be made with any size yarn, as long as you are consistent throughout the pattern. Larger yarn / hook size will result in a larger doll. You will want to use a hook that provides a tight enough tension so that stuffing will not show through your stitches. This amigurumi is designed to be done in “yarn under” (x-stitch). This is very important in making the stripes vertical on the pants. If you prefer to use “yarn over” (v-stitch), you will get a different result with the pants (they will have diagonal stripes.)
Supplies needed for this project include:
Size 1.75mm hook (or size adjusted for your yarn choice)
Super fine weight yarn (or yarn of your choice) in colors: light orange to an orange yellow, dark red or burgundy, dark yellow or gold, soft white, light yellow
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle
Fiberfill stuffing
16mm safety eyes (in white or black) (or size needed to be proportional to your doll size)
2 small buttons of your choice
2 - ½” jingle bells
The pattern includes information on how to make white safety eyes (using black safety eyes) with gel nail polish and a UV light.
Knowledge of these techniques will be helpful: magic ring, invisible decrease, invisible join, closing holes, changing yarn colors, yarn under (x-stitch), basic colorwork for the pants
