Sun Dress with Frill Hem
Sun Dress with Crochet Edging and Frill Hemline Knitting pattern by Pizpaw Patterns.
Pattern no. 45 is for a Sun Dress to fit a baby/toddler. The instructions are for 4 sizes: 6, 12, 18 and 24 months.
The Sun Dress has a frilled hemline, a lacy skirt pattern and a crochet edge around the armholes and neckline. The front and back are knitted separately on straight needles and the sides sewn together.
The pattern uses double-knitting wool. An alternative would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply for international knitters. You will also need sizes 3.25 mm and 4 mm (US size 3 and 6) straight needles, 1 x 3.25 mm crochet hook (US size D/3) and 4 buttons.
The picture shows the 24 month old size knitted using Sirdar Cotton DK in shade 0507 (Sundance) and Rico Cotton DK in shade 018 (White). You will need 2 (2, 3, 3) x 100 gram balls of Sundance and 1 x 50 gram ball of White for all sizes.
Please note this pattern is written using British terminology.
