The sun octopus is a fun stash-busting project. Despite its small size, the little octopus packs a lot of character and is a perfect comfort buddy or a travelling companion.

Materials:
100% wool fingering weight yarn (about 4 m/ 4.3 yards)
A set of 2,5 mm (US size 1.5) double-pointed needles

Naturally coarse, minimally treated lambswool yarn works best since the octopus will be felted (fulled). Samples were knit with plant-dyed fingering weight Estonian lambswool yarn.

This octopus doll is meant to be knitted, stuffed, and then felted using the washing machine. Gauge is not very important, just make sure that your stitches are tight enough, so the stuffing does not show through.

Finished size: diameter approx. 5,5 cm/2 inches
