This is a warm, easy knit. Great for using up some leftovers. It has a folded over brim for extra warmth. Perfect for a winter or Christmas gift.

This pattern is written as one size but does have some stretch. As written. the hat is around 21 inches in circumference and 9 inches in length. This hat was knit using Aran weight yarn. If you use another weight wool (eg. worsted) please check your gauge as it will change the size of the hat. The mittens are 7 inches in circumference and 9.5 inches in length, but the length is easily adjusted.

The hat and mittens are made using stranded knitting. While the pattern uses up to four colours, only two colours are used at once, in all rows except two. Because of this, the hat works up quickly. Both the hat and mittens can easily be completed in under a week.
