Sunanami, sand waves in Japanese, is a long A-line cardigan with wavy lace pattern over its entire lower body.
It is worked from the top down seamlessly with two strands of yarn held together throughout.
The collar is worked first with a tiny cable pattern and slipped stitch edge (SSE), then stitches are picked up along the collar edge for yoke. The front and back are joined at the underarm where sleeve stitches are set aside, and the lower body is worked in one piece to the hem with Sunanami pattern which grows in width and length.
Sleeves are worked top-down in the round. Do not pull yarn too tightly when working SSE.

3.5 mm / US 4; 80 cm / 32” or longer circular needle and double-pointed needles (optional if you use magic loop) – Adjust cable length to fit sts comfortably.

“Sunanami (砂波)”は, 脇下全体に波のレース模様が入ったAラインのカーディガン. 全体を通して糸を2本どりでトップダウン式に綴じ接ぎなしで編みます.
まず襟を小さなケーブル模様とSSE(slipped side edge:端のすべり目)を入れて編み, 次に襟の縁から袖と身頃全体の拾い目をしてヨークを編みます. 脇下まで編めたら, 袖の目を一旦休ませて前後身頃を繋げます. 脇下から徐々に大きくなるSunanami模様を入れながら, 裾まで一続きで編み進みます. 袖は袖口に向かってトップダウン式に輪で編みます. SSEでは糸を引きすぎないように注意して下さい.
