Introduction
The Sunbeam Sweater is a textured knit in brioche stitch with an interesting yoke construction consisting of traveling stripes. It derives its name from the sunny, neon, variegated colorway of the sample sweater. The sweater is worked top-down in the round. The neckline shaping is improved through short row-shaping.
The Sunbeam Sweater belongs to the same family as the Striata Top and Striata Sweater, with a similar yoke construction and sleeve shaping.
Please take note that the increase lines in the yoke are not symmetrical in sizes S, L and 5XL (as also shown in the sample sweaters).
Sizes
(XS, S), M, (L, XL), 2XL, (3XL, 4XL), 5XL
The sample sweater has a positive ease of 15cm/6in around the widest part of the upper body. That means it has a rather loose fit.
If you choose a size that’s 15cm/6in bigger than your bust circumference, this means the sizes of the sweater correspond with a bust circumference of (80, 88.5), 95, (105, 116.5), 125, (130, 141.5), 148.5cm / (31.5, 34.75), 37.5, (41.25, 46), 49.25, (51.25, 55.75), 58.5in.
If you are in between sizes, you can consider a somewhat tighter or looser fit, depending on your preference.
This is the circumference of the finished sweater:
- In cm: (95, 103.5), 110, (120, 131.5), 140, (145, 156.5), 163.5
- In inches: (37.5, 40.75), 43.25, (47.25, 51.75), 55, (57, 61.75), 64.25
Gauge
12 stitches x 38 rounds per 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 inches in brioche stitch after wet blocking.
Important! Take note that brioche stitch grows after wearing or blocking, so make sure to wet block your
swatch.
