These cute little wool beads can be made in every color of the rainbow! Unlike the big ol’ wool dryer balls, these guys are knitted and then felted, so you can make them small enough to be used in jewelry, on fringe, or as garment embellishments. They are approximately 1/2” in diameter, but you can make them larger or smaller by using different yarn or felting them more.

In order to achieve the full ombre effect that is shown here, you will need to buy white/natural wool and dye it into 4 gradually shifting colors to suit your project. If you don’t have any wool dye, you can just use Kool-Aid! It’s super easy. There are many YouTube and blog tutorials out there… Google it and have fun!

You can also achieve some pretty cool results with pre-dyed wool – you can do a candy stripe, contrasting colors, one tiny spot of color in the middle surrounded by another color, solid colored beads… let your imagination run wild!
