This reversible semicircular double garter shawl is inspired by Van Gogh’s painting - The Sower.
Version 1 (bulky mohair): The shawl is achieved by working with two colors (one variegated and one solid yarn) using the “double point sliding technique” alternating strands, knit every row.
Version 2 (worsted weight) and version 3 (fingering weight) are added to the pattern instructions as Sept 15 2011.

Because of the double garter stitches, the shawl has a very soft feeling. The shawl is knitted from the top down. The double point sliding technique is so called because you slide sts to the opposite end of your dpn or circular needle.

• Strand B, 2 balls (100 meter/50 grams) of elann.com Limited Edition Mode mohair, color raspberry.

• 4 stitch markers

Version 2: 72x24 inches

• Strand A, 2 balls of elann.com Peruvian Highland wool, color natural.
• Strand B, 3 balls of elann.com Peruvian Highland wool, color Oatmeal Heather
• 6 mm (US10) 24” circular needle or same size dpn
• 4 stitch markers

Version 3: 51x17 inches

• Both Strand A and B using color natural. 4 balls of elann.com Peruvian Baby Cashmere.
• 4.5 mm (US 7) 24” circular needle or same size dpn
• 4 stitch markers
