Inspiration
This cowl celebrates the inspired sunflower pictures of Vincent Van Gogh.

For the cowl his colour effects are mirrored through holding two yarns together and knitting them as one, using the marling technique. The cowl is knitted in the round, using slipped stiches for the colour work.

Materials
Overall weight/length of yarn required: 250g yarn
100g light yellow 360m – 400m
100g dark yellow 360m – 400m
25g orange 85m – 100m
25g brown 85m – 100m

Aviva Leigh 4-ply (plant dyed wool) is also available from the Knorfolknots website.

The pattern is written for 100g = 400m, so you may need to adjust your final sections to accommodate the yarn you have left.

Size: length 43 cm/width (diameter) 38 cm/circumference 77 cm.

Gauge: 18 stitches/36 rows (18 ‘ridges’) in 10 cm garter stitch square, gauge not essential.

Needles 5 mm (US 8) circular needle (ideally 40 cm/60 cm).
